This week at HBHS

This week at Har-Ber, students are beginning the process of course selection.
We've shown you the 5 different SLC options and we've told you a little about each one. Now it's up to you to decide which is your best fit. On Monday you took a career clusters survey, and hopefully this helped you narrow down your SLC options.

Later this week, your third period teacher will give you more in-depth information about each career cluster, and where they fit with the SLC's at Har-Ber. If you aren't sure which SLC is right for you, don't panic. All of your teachers are here to help you decide, and nothing is set in stone. We will give you as much information as we can before you begin the process of course selection.

If any aspect of the medical field interests you, then MEdS may be right choice for your SLC. MEdS encompasses careers all across the medical services field. MEdS is also a good fit if you like science classes. In our SLC, you have the potential to get college credits and certifications in areas such as Pharmacy Technician, Dental Assistant, and Certified Nursing Assistant. The MEdS SLC can also set you up for furthering your education, whether your desire is to go into family medicine, physical therapy, nursing, sports medicine, exercise physiologist. . . the list goes on. If college isn't for you, then we still have options for certifications that can get you a job out of high school.

We hope that you are beginning to understand more about what will be happening in our school next year. Remember, your teachers and administrators are here to help. Ask questions and be informed.
